How to ensure your home is ready for warmer weather

Spring is finally here and the weather is starting to heat up.  What does this mean for you as a homeowner?

You need to make sure your home is ready for the warmer months by using our checklist below.

  • Inspect your doors and windows. Take a look at the caulking, glass, weather stripping and paint. Not only do you want to prevent leaks from these areas, but it may be replacement time.  Consider replacing the windows in your home with energy efficient windows, which will save you money all year long.
  • Siding Repairs: Take time to look at the siding around your home, you want to be sure that the siding is not damaged and in need of repair. Severely damaged siding can effect your heating/cooling bill on a monthly basis.
  • Clean out gutters and downspouts. A professional gutter cleaning will ensure that everything is up to par and there is no damage to the gutters that may cause water damage to your home.
  • Repair peeling paint to home.
  • Have your HVAC system checked out by a service technician to ensure everything is running smoothly.
  • Pressure wash? Now is a great time to pressure wash your home, exterior, driveway and more.
  • Have your roof inspected for missing shingles and debris.
